What Grand Oaks are these!
Standing together, we breath.
Forest shadows grow long,
we must move on.
Night falls,
we are gone.
At dawn, the Grand Oaks delight,
they greet again the light.
Twisted Sunshine
"I was just dreaming about white birds." My dear brother, Jonathon, brightly greeted me with these words, sharing comfort and love, not sadness, as I entered his room for our last visit together. He so bravely faced ALS, his faith in God strong and steady. When asked how he bore such suffering for so long with such quiet dignity, he simply said, "by God's grace." As was his sweet nature, he lovingly gifted each of his "dear ones" with one last shared joyous embrace in this life.

Fire Flies
Sparks take flight, launching from their smoldering cradle, each flying ember seeking to alight, burst into flame, and come to life, newborn firelight.
Only a few of the sparks will survive to flame alive as fire life.
The brightest fires, burn hot with flames well fed, holding nothing back to bring the light to guide and comfort all who are fearful of the night. The finest fires burn hot and bright, with flames well fed and steady they light the night. These fires glow with life, which flows within when they give their all to burn bright, and share their light to illuminate those lost in the darkness of the night.
The best "fires" brighten lives, and bring light to souls lost and afraid in the cold darkness. These fires hold nothing back, freely offering all that is within them to feed and nuture the brightness of their fire, and shine their light to guide and comfort souls lost, alone and afraid in the cold darkness.
However, given an individual "fire's" finite fuel, the hotter and brighter the fire, the shorter the burn.
Unfortunately, the old wisdom seems, to me, to be true; the good do tend to die young.

Light of Day
To see the sky again, so long ago, to see the sky infuse water landscapes of brown, blue, green with deep grays, unfathomable blues, and the visual wonders of sunsets and sunrises.
What would give your heart joy, tell me, will an image from coastal Florida sooth your isolation? What would lighten your heart, tell me, allow me to attempt to capture it, and I will post it here for you.
